Branching Out

I know I have been pushing away this blog for a while now —a year, at least. Today, I decided to walk away from that.

Procrastinating, as I keep reading about, is like a blanket, threaded with more or less effective coping mechanisms to keep us safe and warm so, we refuse to let go when the alarm rings while it’s raining outside. This may seem a simplistic approach to such a nightmare yet it is enough for me to begin getting back on my slippery feet.

Nonetheless, I would argue procrastination in everyday life, is not really a choice but a coping mechanism in itself, an umbrella being held upside down collecting the rain within —a proper tool being inadvertently misused.

So here I go, unfolding my digital boat made of scattered notes and rotten silences to walk the blog line once again acknowledging the fact that despite feeling rusty and creatively ostracized, I am determined to keep walking slowly to the future.

P.S. I subscribed to People and Blogs weekly newsletter and I suggest you do the same if you’re also convinced there are better ways to inhabit the web. I came across this project while looking for inspiration to redesign my personal website —still a work in progress, and it made me stop second guessing myself and finally getting the confidence to start this blog that had been running around my mind for over a year.
